First aid if your belly button piercing smells

You were so excited about your belly button piercing, it's healed now, looks great, but the piercing channel smells? A smelly belly button piercing can quickly ruin all the fun. If you also have stretched earlobes, you're already familiar with the problem of a smelly piercing channel, as this isn't limited to belly button piercings. For ears, organic jewelry can help reduce the smell, since wood or horn absorbs sebum better. If your belly button piercing smells and is already completely healed, you can also wear curved barbells made of bone, wood, or horn; however, the bar will still be surgical steel, so this will only offer a slight improvement.

Correct procedure if the belly button piercing smells

It's important to clean both the piercing and the navel regularly. Not only does a navel piercing smell, but so does a navel that's not regularly cleaned. The navel is highly intricate, and the folds are difficult to reach. Sebum, dust, hair, and lint accumulate in these skin folds. If you sweat and moisture is present, or if you don't dry it properly after bathing or showering, the moist environment is a breeding ground for germs, which then smell unpleasant. Furthermore, the area around the midsection is pleasantly warm, and this warmth, moisture, and buildup of debris promote bacterial growth and odor. You can easily remedy this by cleaning the navel thoroughly, for example, with a cotton swab, and especially by drying it completely after contact with water, for example, using a hairdryer. It's also possible that not only the navel itself, but the navel piercing might smell. Daily cleaning of the navel and the piercing hole with cotton swabs will help in this case. Even better if you dip the stick in sage tea. A navel with a piercing tends to smell more than one without, because sebum is produced to keep the piercing channel supple. After cleaning your navel and the piercing hole, clean and disinfect the piercing itself and then reinsert it. Dry both your navel and the piercing very thoroughly before reinserting it. Then the problem of your navel piercing smelling should soon be a thing of the past, and you can feel completely attractive again.
