The Tribal Swan Hook Piercing is intricately hand-carved from mother-of-pearl shell. This expander is available in a 2 mm diameter, features a distinctive swan hook shape, and is worn as a dangle earring. The shell expander is carved from organic mother-of-pearl, and as a natural product, no two pieces are ever exactly alike, shimmering with white, yellow, brown, and gray, with hints of red and green. Because the swan hook spiral is hand-carved, the dimensions of the piercing may vary by +/- 1 mm from the stated size. These slight variations in size and color are normal for organic piercings. The images show possible color variations. The shape is a swan-like hook: curved neck, thicker at the bottom, and ending in numerous feathers. The organic material allows the skin on the ear to breathe, preventing unpleasant odors from developing while wearing the piercing. Water contact is not a problem for shell piercings, however, swan piercings should not be worn overnight, as the risk of breakage is higher for shell piercings.
