Earrings with an oval, white Shiva eye shell inlay, encircled by 925 sterling silver. The back is open and hallmarked. Approximately 12 mm wide and 17 mm long. The so-called Shiva eye shell is actually the protective door of a special type of shellfish called the turban snail, found in tropical seas. At the end of the turban snail's life, the door detaches, revealing the beautiful spiral symbol on the inside, which gives the shell its name, Shiva eye. The outside displays a remarkable array of green and brown colors. From shell to shell, the colors blend in various variations. In Hinduism, the "Shiva eye" symbolizes the third eye of the deity Shiva and represents higher consciousness.
