Clavicle piercings are actually dermal anchors, also called microdermal or dermal anchors, because other piercings cannot be placed or anchored in this location. Most piercings have an entry and exit point, but the clavicle dermal anchor is different, which is why it belongs to the single-point piercing category. Only a threaded section protrudes from the skin; an attachment is then screwed onto this threaded section, and only this attachment is visible, as the threaded section is partially submerged. The clavicle anchor is essentially anchored in the tissue by integrating with it. The horizontal plate of the anchor has tiny holes; this plate is placed under the skin, and these holes allow it to fuse with the tissue. Once this has occurred, the dermal anchor is relatively secure, even in the clavicle. Of course, this principle also works in other areas of the body. |--|Insertion and Risks of Clavicle Piercings~~ This sounds worse than it actually is, as it hardly hurts: the piercer creates an opening with a hollow needle or a dermal punch scalpel. Through this opening, they insert the implant under the skin, creating a small pocket in which the clavicle piercing sits. Under the skin is the horizontal disc, and attached to it is a short, vertical bar with a thread, part of which protrudes from the skin. A decorative cap, for example, with a rhinestone or a special design, is then screwed onto this thread. Initially, you should cover your clavicle piercing with a bandage to allow it to heal properly and become firmly attached, preventing it from snagging on your clothing. During this time, creams, shower gel, perfume, swimming pools, saunas, and sun exposure are off-limits! Please only touch it with very clean fingers and follow all aftercare instructions, as this piercing only has one opening to the outside, and an infection would be particularly serious!
