Aviator glasses

Aviator glasses were originally developed in 1936 for Army pilots to protect their eyes during flights—hence the name "Aviator." A year later, the glasses began to be sold to the public. The glasses became known worldwide when General Douglas MacArthur landed on a beach in the Philippines during World War II, and journalists took photos of him wearing them. The pictures were printed everywhere, and the aviator-style glasses and aviator-style glasses became famous. In 1987, a line of sunglasses was even dedicated to the general.
