The Tribal Spiral Piercing is delicately hand-carved from shimmering mother-of-pearl shell. This expander is available in a 1.6 mm diameter, has a unique spiral shape, and is worn as an earring dangle. The shell stretcher is made of organic mother-of-pearl, and as a natural product, no two pieces are exactly alike, shimmering in white, yellow, and brown. Because the thick spiral is hand-carved, the dimensions of the piercing may vary by +/- 1 mm from the stated size. These variations in size and color are normal for organic piercings. The images show possible color combinations of the spiral. The shape is a hook that transitions into a thickening spiral with a rounded cutout at the bottom and a pointed tip at the top. The organic material allows the skin in the piercing channel to breathe, preventing unpleasant odors. Water contact is not a problem with shell; however, spiral piercings should not be worn overnight, as shell is more prone to breakage.
