All stretching spirals are fake piercings; they are inserted into the ear like regular earrings using a 1mm stainless steel post and fit normal, unstretched ear piercings. On the ear, they look just like a stretching spiral with a 6mm or 8mm diameter. The stainless steel post is secured either with a screw or ball and a screw closure, or, in newer versions, with a push-on closure lined with silicone. Both options are sturdy and durable.
