The straight barbell piercing gets its name from its shape: it resembles a barbell, as it consists of a straight bar with threads and screw-on balls. Of course, it doesn't have to be balls, although usually at least one end has one. Other options include cone tips, faceted glass crystals or stones, or completely different shapes like hearts, anchors, stars, skulls, and much more. As the name suggests, the straight barbell piercing is straight. Since it can be used in a wide variety of locations, it also comes in various lengths, ranging from shorter lengths for the tongue and nipple to longer lengths for the ear, such as an industrial piercing. Straight barbells are also popular for intimate piercings .

Variants of the straight barbell piercing

The various models of straight barbell piercings differ in length, bar thickness, and the diameter of the balls or other shapes at the ends. They are also made from different materials. Softer models made of acrylic, silicone, Bioflex, or PTFE are well-suited for the tongue, for example, to avoid damaging the teeth and gums. Metal versions are also suitable for nipple piercings or bridge piercings at the bridge of the nose. This style can also be worn in the ear. We offer a wide range of colors, including iridescent stainless steel in rainbow colors, as well as silver, gold, metallic blue, black, transparent, red, blue, and other colors, including neon shades. Many of our straight barbell piercing models feature a cubic zirconia or glass crystal in various colors and shapes, such as stars. For men, we also carry skulls and arrows. With our extensive selection, there's something for everyone.

Difference to other barbells

If you like our designs, take a look at the Banana and Circular Barbell categories. These also offer great piercing models, with the only difference being that their bars aren't straight. The banana or curved barbell is slightly bent, while the circular barbell features a round ring or the popular horseshoe shape. However, the classic design from which all others evolved is and remains the straight barbell piercing. Good craftsmanship and high-quality materials are essential, as the threading needs to function properly. It should open and close easily, without jamming, but also not be extremely loose. The ends shouldn't be too large or too small, depending on the body part where you're wearing the straight barbell piercing. For a straight barbell piercing through the tongue, you should choose a material that isn't easily bitten through, so that no teeth marks will be visible. Ideally, it should be resistant enough to bite through, but not made of hard metal, so that it's also soft enough for your teeth and gums. The straight barbell piercing is versatile and can be used, for example, as a long industrial piercing in the ear. The screw-on attachments for the straight barbell piercing offer endless possibilities; they can be brightly colored, neon, or simple, solid, metallic, and subtle. Shapes include silicone attachments with spikes, as well as shapes like cones, stars, hearts, arrowheads, and arrowheads, etc. For nipple piercings, small chains often dangle from one end of the straight barbell to the other.
